A SCHOOL caretaker has been suspended after pornographic photographs showing him romping with a former teaching assistant were released to the Advertiser.

The pictures, which we believe are too graphic to publish in a family newspaper, show the pair in various positions cavorting on school premises.

The photos show a woman, believed to be teaching assistant Angela Thornhill, performing a sex act on caretaker Jeff Webber.

Croydon Council this week confirmed Mr Webber has been suspended from his post, pending an investigation.

The sex scandal is the latest to hit Addington High after a teacher and a teaching assistant lost their jobs at the school in Fairchildes Avenue last year. Their departures came after a pornographic video was seen by pupils on a school computer.

Tim Edwards, then 47, was the school's head of information and communication technologies. He was fired after an investigation into his affair with teaching assistant Ms Thornhill.

When explicit footage of the mum of three performing a sex act on Mr Edwards was discovered on a school PC in February, the couple were immediately suspended from their posts.

Ms Thornhill later resigned and, after an investigation by the school and Croydon Council, Mr Edwards was sacked.

At the time Ms Thornhill, then 50, spoke exclusively to the Advertiser, claiming it was not a fling and that the pair had been in love.

She said: "We had sex three times in Tim's office but we do not recall recording a sex tape in his office.

"We always had sex in the office when it was locked and there were no children on the premises. We never had sex in classrooms."

Tim Davies, head teacher of the school which was saved from closure in 2008, was unavailable for comment this week.

But an Addington High spokesman said: "We can confirm that an investigation has been started with regards to an allegation concerning a non-teaching member of the school's staff.

"The person concerned is being suspended with immediate effect in order to enable this to take place."
