Two Croydon ambulance workers received medals at a special ceremony after dedicating 20 years to saving lives.
Jamie Maynard and Alison Horne were also presented with certificates at the event in Westminster to recognise their long service working for the London Ambulance Service.
Jamie, a duty station officer, and Alison, an emergency medical technician, are both based at Croydon Ambulance Station, in Primrose Lane, Shirley.
They were each awarded a long service and good conduct medal at the ceremony on February 26.
Dad-of-one Jamie, 43, said he joined the ambulance service because he wanted to do a job that he could be proud of.
He added: "The best thing about my job is the satisfaction and to make a good outcome for a patient.
"It's always nice when you get a thank you and it makes the job worthwhile.
"I really enjoy what I do. People say would you go back and change it and I say no."
"It was really proud moment when I got my medal. Now I'm looking at 25, 30 and 40 years of service."
