AN ELECTRICAL apprentice from Croydon has earned a prestigious award.

Jamie Weakner, 25, from central London-based M&M Electrical Ltd, was recently crowned regional winner of the ECA Edmundson Apprentice of the Year award.

The awards are presented every year by Edmundson Electrical and the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA), and recognise the achievements of apprentices throughout the UK.

Jamie was presented with his award, together with a cheque for £500 and an electrical testing kit by Edmundson Electrical.

He said: "I was so pleased when I found out, I couldn't believe it. It all happened so fast and I was really surprised that I got this far."
