This is Croydon

The most interesting national story of the week so far is the leak of the list of BNP members.

As you can tell from the current lead story on the homepage, we've got details of the 30 people in Croydon who have been named on the document.

The legal position is a bit unclear at the moment - right now, we can't print their names ourselves or we'd risk breaching an existing  court injunction, although it doesn't stop us approaching them.

Hopefully the situation will change as it makes very interesting reading.

“Thank you for reading my post, gentlemen.
Regrets if it's boring, but that's what happens when you have to explain everything to people w-h-o
    a-r-e a b-i-t
    s-l-o-w!
Of course, being boring doesn't make it any less true!

BTW, sorry, Misterkipling, I don't want to "feck" you (Is that a dialect word?); I don't think you're my type.”

“You appear to have some difficulty in processing information, Chopper, when you say "The most ridiculous thing about this whole affair is the spectacle of BNP supporters bleating about losing their jobs or being subjected to witch hunts because of their political allegiance". In your previous post you referred to BNP members who might "lose their jobs", now I see it's changed to BNP supporters. Which exactly are you talking about? And again you replay the completely irrelevant
record about "race" and "religion", when the issue is having any kind of immigration into this country (England), which is already the most densely-populated in Europe.

I said before, regarding the right to membership of a political party without being subject to intimidation, "It's a general principle, if you can understand such a concept": your own response shows you cannot.”

“No sense of humour, no sense of irony, either.

The most ridiculous thing about this whole affair is the spectacle of BNP supporters bleating about losing their jobs or being subjected to witch hunts because of their political allegiance.

These are the very same people who would exercise their prejudice to strip people of their jobs and conduct a witch hunt against anyone of a different race or religion.”

“Oh, dear, what a disappointing response! Don't you have more axes to grind than , that, Chopper? (Am I in great form today, or what!)

No, I "overlook" nothing of the kind - and you also display a lack of observation, appearing to read what you think I say rather than what I actually write.
My position is that it would be unfair (and illegal, surely!) for members of any recognised and democratically-supported party "to lose their jobs or be subject to a witch hunt", no matter where they happen to be placed by popular opinion on the political spectrum.

It's a general principle, if you can understand such a concept.

I can't claim to be an expert on the BNP, but you seem to be confident in declaring "the principle premise of the BNP is to discriminate against others just because of the colour of their skin or religion". To me skin colour and religion are simply red herrings: I support the BNP purely because of their stance on immigration - of people of any stripe. We're full up!

Oh, yes, and if the talking heads are wondering why the BNP is getting increasing support, I see this morning that Boris Johnson thinks it would be a good idea to give an amnesty to all the illegals in London (estimated to be around 400,000). ...And this is the guy who is supposed to be a "Conservative"! So what's he conserving? Not my people, culture, traditions, and way of life, obviously!”

“Yes, but Alistair, you overlook the irony of ironies in your repeated whinges - the idea that it would be so unfair for BNP members to lose their jobs or be subject to a witch hunt, because of their membership, when the principle premise of the BNP is to discriminate against others just because of the colour of their skin or religion.”

“Thanks Chopper, I have to admit - given the general mien of your post - that it didn't (bold type since a sympathiser in the Advertiser acquainted me with their html code!) occur to me that it was a "self-depracating" (you sure about that?) joke. As for my having "no sense of humour", that was supremely ironic, since I was genuinely laughing as I typed responses to you in my last post. Unfortunately you haven't seen fit to address any of my challenges to your more obvious naive assertions: e.g. "membership of the Labour party does not allow...", "misinformation" etc., and my favourite "None try to keep it secret...". Still, Chopper, I understand: it's not that you can't defend any of this, it's just don't have the time, do you?

And no, I couldn't be certain "then" was a typo in this particular case.

You mention my "apparent assertion that there are cabinet members who are secret "sleepers", and in fact are agents for the KGB..."
No, I said nothing about "cabinet members", "sleepers", or the KGB. (KGB! God, Chopper, you're soo '60s!) ...Apart from that, you got everything right.

I like Freddy Forsyth's books, but apart from that don't take him seriously: he's done
very well in his role of Official Establishment Stooge.

Yes, it would "be an interesting test case...a BNP member sacked for their political allegiance" - and all the signs are we could be seeing a couple in the near future.

Oh, by the way, saying "incompetent Fascist buffoon Griffiths", and then managing to get the name wrong (it's "Griffin"), smacks of...well, incompetence.”

“Well, Alistair, I suppose if nothing else, your latest response proves one thing: BNP supporters have no sense of humour.

"Which of my garbled sentences are you referring to?" - should be obvious to most that this was meant as a (self-depracating) JOKE (capital letters for the hard-of-thinking).

The use of "than" in that sentence was a mere typo as I rattled on the keyboard. Could you not work that out either?

As far as your apparent assertion that there are cabinet members who are secret "sleepers", and in fact are agents for the KGB, if you'd like to give me your email address, I'll put you in touch with Freddy Forsyth and between you, you can come up with the far-fetched plot of his next novel.

Or you might join the real world.

Of course, if you have any real evidence to support your wild and frankly worryingly paranoid conspiracy theories (you can seek help, you know), then I am sure that Ian Carter would be delighted to run a special edition of the Croydon Advertiser next week with the scoop of all scoops.

As to the one substantive point you make:

BNP members are either afraid of losing their jobs or being victims of a witch-hunt.
    >>>>

Well... it'd be an interesting test case, wouldn't it, a BNP member sacked for their political allegiance?

After the last couple of days, the only BNP member likely to lose their job is that incompetent Fascist buffoon Griffiths.”
