TEENAGER Tom Bloxsome is the latest product of Whitgift School's golfing fraternity to win international recognition having been selected to represent Great Britain in the 20th Independent Schools Golf Tour.

A member of the Surrey Under 16 team last year, Bloxsome is the youngest of eight boys in his age group to be chosen to tour the Eastern Seaboard of the United States next April.

The team will play 19 matches over a three-week period and Bloxsome, 16, who is a member of the Purley Downs and Walton Heath Golf Clubs, is looking forward to the challenge.

In addition, the sixth former from South Croydon has been invited by Terry Casey (father of the PGA Tour's Paul Casey) to participate on the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence.

This is an England futures programme and targets the country's most talented youngsters.
