Boss happy to land his man at the second attempt
EAGLES boss Dougie Freedman said he was pleased to land his man at the second time of asking.
Freedman told the Croydon Advertiser this week that he viewed the season-long loan move for Aaron Martin as a "good bit of business," having previously tried to sign the Southampton defender in January.
He said: "We tried to get him in January but the timing wasn't right.
"We are pleased to have secured his services now though and it is a good bit of business for us."

The 22-year-old has signed from the Premier League new boys to gain further experience in the npower Championship and Freedman says he will bring leadership qualities to the side.
He said: "He is a very good communicator and he has got the potential to play at the highest level.
"He will bring leadership qualities to the side and he has got a desire and hunger to get his career up and running, which I am sure will show through in the months to come."
Meanwhile, Freedman said Martin's arrival was not necessarily a precursor to Anthony Gardner's departure, adding that a contract offer, which he said was within the club's budget, was still on the table for the former Tottenham centre-back. He said: "We feel it is the right contract offer and it is still on the table."
