ceremony celebrated the achievements of learners across South London and was
hosted by Lord Tope. The awards are organised by the Committee of South London
Principals (COSLP) who represent colleges in Croydon, Kingston, Bromley,
Richmond,
Sutton and Merton and work together to share good practice and to
improve post 16 and adult learning.
Nastexo Ali is a current student at Carshalton College about to complete her
Level 1 CACHE Diploma in Caring for Children (Foundation Learning). In
September, Nastexo hopes to begin the Level 2 qualification progressing towards
her ambition of becoming a teacher.
Nastexo is a very mature young lady who has established herself as
a valued member of the class. Nastexo's attendance and punctuality at college
has been excellent showing her motivation and passion, she organised and
produces all assignments on time and to a high standard and described as a joy
to teach.
Nastexo in her past has had to deal with some very difficult and
emotional issues but has shown nothing but enthusiasm for the course and
college life which has been her security throughout these times. She is an
amazing young person and her smile always brightens the room, always positive
and upbeat with such a caring and understanding side.
Nastexo was voted as Class Rep and is a member of the Student Union.
She is always giving up her own time by taking part in charity events,
attending meetings, supporting others and is currently undertaking her Level 2
mentoring qualification. Student Support staff describe her as reliable, keen
to get involved, polite and cheerful, a wonderful role model for fellow
students.
"Nastexo
has been a real joy to teach over the past two years, she should be extremely
proud of what she has achieved so far and is going to be a real asset to the
childcare profession" Jo Stocker, Tutor
