Chan takes title again
KARATE: Darren Chan, who owns Fight Factory in Purley, claimed The British regional knockdown karate title last weekend, for the second time.
Of his three bouts on the day, he won the first two fights by spectacular knockout and then the final on points.

He has been off the karate circuit for the past two years, while pursuing other avenues of fighting in the styles of UK-1 and Thai Boxing, picking up the IKF and ISKA Southern Area titles.
Chan said: "Having not been around for two years and to come back in at a bigger weight class and win by knockouts makes this title all the sweeter.

"I intend to carry this through for a tournament I have been selected for in Sweden in September and then the British Open in October."
He trains in the Kyokushin style, where competitors fight full contact and without shin pads or gloves.
He competes as a middleweight, after previously winning it as a lightweight in 2001.
Chan began karate aged four when his dad took him to a local club in Caterham.
He made the switch from Sport Karate to full contact when he was 19.
He has won national titles, European titles and in 2005 came third in the world.
