LOCAL talent will descend on Shirley for a charitable night of musical entertainment.

Spring Park Residents' Association (SPRA) members are urging people to come along to the first event of its kind at the Shirley Community Centre, in Shrublands Avenue, next Saturday.

The gig will feature music by local musician Nick Patti, 16, and his rock band and Cliff Richard impersonator Jerry Richards and The Evening Shadows.

Mr Richards, of Links View Road, Shirley, is a former Stars In Their Eyes contestant who performed with Sir Cliff at the music legend's 60th birthday.

All the money raised from the event, which starts at 7pm, will go to the Golden Acre children's hospice in the Kwazulu Natal region of South Africa for youngsters with AIDS.

Anyone who wants to buy tickets that cost £5 each should call 020 8776 0549.
