VILLAGERS are being urged to look out for suspicious salesmen, after a number of calls were made to police.

Some residents claim they have been approached by people posing as salesmen, attempting to sell them security and alarm systems endorsed by Sussex Police.

Forest Row PCSO Karen Juniper said: "I have received a number of complaints from residents. The best advice is never to accept unsolicited offers of products from unknown people over the telephone or on your doorstep.

"Some residents have been asked questions about what security they already have in place in their home and we strongly advise that this information is not given out."

Villagers are also encouraged not to give out any personal or financial information, such as their bank details.
