A fund-raising walk for Marie Curie Cancer Care raised a bumper £8,000-plus. Two hundred people took part in the Happy Valley Walk in Coulsdon on September 13, with all participants receiving goody bags and Devoted To Life T-shirts.

Ros Hooper, the charity's Surrey fundraising manager, said: "Well done to all participants and thank-you for making such a fantastic effort. Funds raised will make a real difference to the lives of terminally ill patients in the area."
