A man has admitted in court to attacking his own mother.

Nightmare neighbour James Hatcher pleaded guilty before Croydon magistrates to assaulting Caroline Hatcher in The Glade, Old Coulsdon, where he previously lived.

But Hatcher, 25, now of The Avenue, Coulsdon, denied two other offences of breaking his antisocial behaviour order when he appeared in court on August 23.

The roofer, who was given the Asbo last summer after blasting out loud music day and night in The Glade, is under strict orders not to play music or create any noise that can be heard by his neighbours.

Allegedly Hatcher broke his Asbo between January 16 and 25 by shouting and screaming into his mobile phone so loudly his neighbours could hear.

He is also alleged to have played loud music on May 15 at The Glade.

Now Hatcher has been banned from going near his old address after admitting to assaulting his mother by beating on July 13.

He will return to Croydon Magistrates' Court on September 13.

Hatcher was jailed on June 1 for six weeks after breaking a community order when he was found guilty of public order offences relating to shouting homophobic abuse at his neighbours in The Fox pub.

The Advertiser contacted Hatcher and asked if he felt remorse about the attack on his mother but his response was unprintable.

“Homophobic abuse and beats up his mother? I diagnose a repressed homosexual with a severe Oedipus complex. He is what the Americans call a bad mud the far car. The cure? A long time in prison - where someone can finally pop his cherry.”

“Make the punishment fit the crime:

You drive a car with no tax, MOT or insurance ¿ your car is crushed.

You play loud music ¿ your hi-fi is crushed.

You beat up your mother ¿ your ***** are crushed”

“Are you really concerned, or just trying to make your feral little buddy look a little less of an idiotic, pathetic little wimp that he is. 'As a taxpayer' 'I'm not condoning' blah blah blah
Someone having a party is a little different to one sad little boy blasting his music on a regular basis, even after he had been given an asbo for it, so people pay attention to him. Yeah, thats real nice for the neighbours.
Then when they go to the pub, they have abuse thrown at them because the boy can't hold his drink and has to show off to his pals when he already has an asbo for being abusive to neighbours.
He is not in prison for just noise offences, he beat his mother, broke his asbo, was using homophobic abuse. He made himself an 'easy target' by his pathetic, childish want to be chav behaviour for years, what are the police supposed to do?. Its better hes banged up, how shameful it must be for him to have all this written about him and to have his picture there aswell. If I see him when he gets out, I will laugh in his face, ask him how he felt after he beat his mum and see how much of a man he is.
I bet your wimpy little mate has carried a knife aswell, maybe thats the next thing the paper will be writing about on a slow week? Cor blimey! I wish I lived next door to him.”

“As a taxpayer I am more concerned about the waste of money we have spent putting James into prison for 'noise offences'. There are far more dangerous people on the loose than a 25year old who plays loud music. Having recently been a victim of knife crime, I find it hard to believe the police let the suspects go despite having witness statements, but instead choose to pursue an 'easy target' - presumably to hit their targets.
I'm not condoning his behaviour by any means, by his own admission he has caused considerable distress to his neighbours over the years; but I find it hard to believe that he can be the only person who has ever held a few noisy late night parties without the supervision of his parents.
Whatever problems the Hatcher family may have are between themselves - are the Croydon Advertiser going to publish stories on every local family who have an argument or is just that they have labelled James as an 'ASBO yob' and are having a slow news week?”

“He needs to be put inside with a nice "friendly" cellmate who is a real hardman and not someone who just beats up women.”
