Croydon 1 Horley Town 1

CROYDON ended their run of six consecutive defeats with a point at home to Horley in the Combined Counties Premier Division on Wednesday.

The Trams had the better of the first half at the Arena and took the lead through Martin Smith on 26 minutes, slotting neatly into the far corner after his first attempt had cannoned against a defender.

In the second half, Croydon keeper Adrian Jones made a brilliant save from Terry O'Sullivan, and minutes later a deep cross from Michael Johnson was headed against the Horley bar by Junior Gyimah.

But substitute Luke Ragetti equalised for the visitors on 73 minutes, cutting in and sliding the ball past Jones.

Croydon's game at Wembley last Saturday was postponed.

Croydon: Jones, Goddard (Penfold), Johnson, Sophonie, Hemmings, Padgett, Clayton, Grant, Gyimah, Smith, Loyzu. Unused subs: Griffin, Thomas.
