Croydon 16 Teddington 41

CROYDON competed well against newly-promoted Teddington, who have swept all before them so far to lead the division.

Teddington scored after eight minutes when their full back burst into the line and crossed but Croydon responded when Alex Warsop made the half-break and Sam Clarkson and Mike Pederson exchanged passes before Clarkson ran round behind the posts for a beautifully crafted try. Warsop added the conversion and a well struck penalty afterwards to gain the lead.

Croydon competed well in the loose but were outgunned in the line out and when they failed to secure possession on their throw.

The visitors took advantage to regain the lead and just before half-time they extended it when Croydon missed a tackle in midfield and the No 8 burst through to the posts.

Warsop briefly revived Croydon's hopes in the second half with two more penalties, but Teddington took their opportunities with ruthless efficiency landing two penalties themselves and two converted tries.

Croydon will be encouraged by the commitment displayed by the whole side and stand out performances from the Curtis twins.
