Croydon Council is looking to see whether it can take a BNP member to court after she boasted about mounting a hate campaign against a family of immigrants living in the flat above her.

Charlotte Lewis, who earlier this year stood as a candidate in the Waddon by-election, told a meeting of British National Party members she played loud music late into the night - which may have contributed to the Afghan family moving out.

The comments were made at a meeting in east London to celebrate the party's showing in the recent European elections.

Addressing party members at a pub in Dagenham, she said: "I don't think they could take any more of my penchant for playing heavy metal at 1am."

When the Advertiser asked the 36-year-old, who lives in Bensham Lane, Thornton Heath, to explain the comments, Ms Lewis said she had "embellished" the story for the sake of her audience.

But she added: "I'm of the opinion that none of them should be in this country anyway.

"It would be in the best interests of this country if they moved back to Afghanistan.

"If British people were to move in upstairs I would keep the noise down."

Asked if she had made any efforts to get to know her neighbours, Ms Lewis added: "That would be hypocritical, and I'm not hypocritical.

"What on earth would we speak about, even if they could speak English?

"They're immigrants in my country and I'm a member of the BNP."

Croydon North MP Malcolm Wicks - a patron of the West Croydon Refugee Centre - said he was appalled at her remarks.

He said: "If she admits that she made the comments, it's a really extraordinary thing.

"It's clearly anti-social behaviour and the idea that someone could be considered for elected public service after admitting this kind of anti-social behaviour is bizarre.

"It shows the good sense of the people of Waddon for not voting for her."

Councillor Alison Butler, who represents the Bensham Manor ward where Ms Lewis lives, was equally disgusted by her bragging.

She said: "I'm going to see if there's any action we (Croydon Council) can take.

"I'm just horrified at her despicable remarks, I just wish we'd heard about it sooner."

Gavin Barwell, the council's cabinet member for safety and cohesion, has asked officers to investigate what steps they can take against her under anti-social behaviour laws.

He said: "I share Councillor Butler's concerns and will be looking into it.

"I view it very seriously, and I'm taking advice from officers about whether there is any legal action we can take."

“Well Donna, I certainly am no 'Vicky Pollard' & I do not now, nor have I ever been a smoker. I rarely touch booze either.

Your comment about me not daring to play loud music if I had West Indian neighbours is very interesting, so you're admitting that a lot of them are violent then? I play quite loud, but not very loud, music, because I like it - not to get rid of anybody. How loud - I have no idea, as nobody has ever come to me & complained & asked me to turn it down. With hindsight, the Afghans probably left because the home office were on to them, maybe, I simply don't know, & don't care all that much - just wish they'd go home. I do know that he claimd the dole whilst signing on & got done for driving without insurance.

I am certainly not lazy. I do a lot of voluntary work for the BNP, & as the party grows & is able to employ more people, I may be able to be one of those people employed by them & then I won't be on benefits any more. Yes I'm on benefits at the moment, but I've had several jobs in the past. Working for a living would certainly be a more attractive prospect with access to affordable housing.”

    “Victoria - do shut up!

Yes, immigrants commit crimes, but so do the British. I can see you're a friend of Charlottes. People like Charlotte would rather sit at home smoking 20 fags and blame immigrants for the state of her sorry life and her inability (or laziness) to go out and get a job. People like charlotte need to belittle others in an attempt to to elevate herself. She chooses to support and be a member of this negative party that decent people will not join because of the likes of her and the rest of the thugs.

Tell me if a normal decent person would play loud music in an attempt to get rid of neighbours just because they're not British. OK, she says she was playing to an audience, if thats what excites the BNP, why would decent people join? This is nothing short of thuggery and I bet your bottom dollar, if Charlottes neighbours were black and from the WI she wouldnt dare try this. Charlotte picks on the weak like a school bully - shame on you Muppet! A lot of British people would support the BNP if it were'nt for Vicky Pollard (aka Charlotte) spouting ignorant views, so Charlotte continue, they'll get rid of you soon. Then what will you do to fill your time? Get a job, stop claiming benefits then marry an 'Afghan' and live happily ever after!”

“Are we all expected to go around with woolly hats on in a state of multicultural utopia?
Immigrants feel confident enough to commit crime, steal from the indegenous land, defraud council and state benefits, produce false passports, import illegal immigrants, set up fake passport offices and 'language' colleges, and impose their own culture on us.
Yet if one saw a dog being beaten and abused one might want to go and help it. If it is a white human being one should let it take the beating and steal it's money to make it pay for more?”

“"The Afghans obstructed my access to my electric meter." Why on earth this is not being discussed down the United Nations I do not know...? Charlotte the problem with people like you is you want to have your cake and eat it. You ramble on about how much you hate these people who by your own admission have done you no harm at all but when what you said is reported in the paper you want to attack the reporters as inaccurate despite making it clear in these postings that actually you do indulge in the behaviour because you are completely not bothered ENOUGH TO WRITE IN UPPER CASE and keep posting contradictory statements that claim you have been misrepresented while echoing exactly the same opinions you have been criticised for... You claim that NO COMPLAINT WAS EVER MADE TO ANY AUTHORITY ABOUT ME when clearly a complaint has been made to the authorities about you - how dim do you think we are? As to your an entertainment skills I wonder how well you would do infront of an audience who were looking for entertainment rather than incitement. I expect from your contradictory arguements and interesting prose style that you'd be one of those open spots that's so obviously mentally disturbed and unfunny that they're unintentionally funny. Sorry if that's cruel but I have an audience...”

“Please people, do not be fooled by Charlotte. Charlotte has first hand experience of immigrants of all bankgrounds. She like some of the thousands of immigrants that enter this country, feels that the world owes her a living. She lives in a cold damp flat because she refuses to go out and work for a living, relying on her excuses as to why she can't work. Claiming incapacity benefit on the grounds of depression she feels that she is entitled to a new cosier council/housing association flat by birth right and feels angry that she has to watch those less fortunate than herself get housed, whilst she gets left in her cold damp flat. Charlotte was fortunate enough to not be born into a war torn country where she suffered oppression and political unrest. She and her likes are what is wrong with this country whether they be immigrant or home grown. If you are not prepared to put anything in then don't expect to get anything out. At least if they are an immigrant that doesn't want to contribute to the country then one day some government might just deport them (wishfull thinking maybe). But what do we do with the likes of Charlotte.”

“People who patronise the BNP , it's members and supporters by making childish remarks such as 'you didn't get to know your neighbours' are too stupid to see the wood for the trees. I think most Londoners who try to improve themselves have been treated in a racist fashion by a recently arrived immigrant or third worlder in some way. When you are told how 'enriching' and 'beneficial' they are all the time by a fixed political dictat and media,it is very disheartening when the reality is that a peasant family that doesn't speak English, makes no effort to assimilate to your culture and behave in quite a disrespectful fashion move in next door, when you know plenty of needy people from your own race that are in desperate need of help. It's more than helping 'those in need', it 's political countdown to remove the British people from their birthright and culture. Council laws give priority to 'those in need' but those in need aren't necessarily the most delightful and aspirational to be around, and council housing policy now is defrauding the British people of a service they used to expect.”
