Officers then carried out a search warrant at a property in Rectory Road in Waddon, where they seized a further £10,000.

"Thanks to information from the public, we’ve been able to target an address with suspected links to drugs and recovered a large amount of what we believe to be cannabis and around £60,000 in cash as well," said PC Pat Nolan from the Broad Green SNT, who led the operation.

"Residents of Broad Green should be reassured that if they tell us about a problem in their neighbourhood, then we will take appropriate action.

"If you’ve got a problem or suspect something similar, let us know or call Crimestoppers and we can help put a stop to it."

The two men arrested have been taken to a south London police station, where they currently remain in custody.
