Claude Davis must take a significant pay-cut to seal a move Crystal Palace.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock has made no secret of his desire to bring the Jamaica international to Selhurst Park.

But the Advertiser understands the Derby defender must take a "huge" drop in wages to secure a move to south London.

Davis’ knee problems, coupled with Palace’s financial constraints means the Eagles will only offer the 30-year-old a considerably reduced basic salary compared to his current Derby contract.

But the south Londoners hope the lure of first-team football will be enough to persuade the former Sheffield United and Preston man to join.

The Reggae Boy has been told he has no future at the Pride Park by boss Nigel Clough.

Davis still has two years left on his current Rams deal – but the club are willing to let him leave on a free transfer to shift him off the wage bill.
