ADMINISTRATOR Brendan Guilfoyle has confirmed the deadline for interested parties to prove they have sufficient funds to take over Crystal Palace has been pushed back to March 26.

Guilfoyle had set a deadline of March 12 for those chasing a deal to deposit £10 million into a UK solicitor's bank account. However, as we predicted in last Friday's Croydon Advertiser, that deadline was not met and has now been put back a further two weeks.

It is the second time Guilfoyle has been forced to push back the deadline after originally setting it for February 26.

The administrator told the club's official web-site: "We have a number of individuals who have put forward an interest but at this stage no firm proof of funding has come forward.

"Therefore it has been agreed to extend a further fortnight to give some more time to accommodate those who want to pursue their interest in purchasing Crystal Palace FC."

Guilfoyle told the Advertiser that there were now five parties in the hunt to takeover - three "very visible" groups, one US based company and one European based company.

The three visible parties are thought to include a consortium led by Palace fan Steve Parish and another group headed by local businessman Winston Mckenzie.

    “liam, caterham
i have logged on to the palace trust site.
things like sponsoring the preston game on a familly day at palace are good for the club but on the site it said the trust is meeting the administrator tonight before the game can you inform us or i presume the meeting report will be on the website tomorrow.
liam, what is the actual purpose of the palace trust?
it is 2 months since the club went into administration & is this the ist time you have met the administrator because i read 1 of the news reports & it said the trust had not yet had a meeting with pwc who own selhurst park.
did palace not have a fund/trust going & fans raised a £1m after the goldberg affair? is this the samr trust?
liam, apart from sponsoring a youth cup tie & preston at home, what is the palace trust achieved in helping the club?.”
