service: Arthur 'Bunny' Jenkins
Bunny, of Court Hill, Sanderstead, was formerly Croydon Scouts' assistant district commissioner and helped groups across the borough before he retired at 65.
He was awarded Scout badges including the silver acorn for long service, the silver wolf for exceptional service and the medal of merit for outstanding service for more than ten years.
John Taylor, chairman of Croydon District Scouts and a friend of Bunny's for more than 40 years, said: "We are all very sad that he's passed.
"He was very approachable and was always trying to help.
"Everyone felt they could talk to him and he was very popular.
"Bunny did a lot behind the scenes and was very hands-on. I think he liked making a difference and knowing he could help others."
The father-of-two, who had been involved in the Scouts since he was a child, is credited with helping bring Bears Wood Scout Camp in Forestdale up to standard.
His daughter, Lindsay Hickey, said: "We all miss him a lot but he had a very full life.
"He was very bright and had a wonderful wit.
"He never pushed himself to the front, he was quite modest, despite doing all this wonderful work.
"He was an extraordinary person and I'm certain everyone who knew him will miss him."
Tributes can be sent to Rowland Brothers Funeral Directors, 299-305 Whitehorse Road, Thornton Heath.
