Dipre promises 'first class match day experience'
Owner Paul Dipre wants to give fans a "first class matchday experience" when they visit Carshalton Athletic next season.
As well as demanding stylish football, he told fans this week about the extensive work that had been done at the ground over the summer.
Clubhouse internet screens will update spectators with scores and tables at half-time and full-time.
There are new turnstyles, toilets, better security at the back of the ground, a new club shop, four sets of changing rooms for the burgeoning junior section, more parking and a beer garden to be used not just on football days.
And he was particularly proud of the new kitchen.
"I'm a great believer that when people come to football they want good food.
"All these things go, along with the football, to try to ensure a great match day experience for everybody."
The owner of a publishing company based in Wallington, Dipre hopes the upgrades will build a platform for success on the field, and manager Hayden Bird clearly agrees.
Bird said: "I've been at a club where the team outgrew the club – it never ends well."
The Robins have lined up several friendlies, starting with Bromley at home on July 18. Basingstoke will be the opposition on July 21 at a venue to be confirmed, with Lewes (h) on July 25 and Staines (h) on July 28 booked in. Fulham and Brighton are other possibles, with Whyteleafe, Redbridge, Chipstead and Brentwood providing away trips.
On Sunday July 26, the club will stage a veterans' event between Sutton, Carshalton, AFC Wimbledon and Tooting, in aid of soldiers injured in Afghanistan. Entry will be £5.
