Djilali aims to play a key role for Palace

KIERAN Djilali is hoping his first senior goal in Palace colours will secure him an extended run in the side.

Kieran Djilali slides home his first Palace goal
The teenager's second half tap-in earned the Eagles a valuable draw at Doncaster Rovers, dragging the team out of the Championship drop zone.
With Neil Danns' sore back keeping him out of the clash at Keepmoat Stadium, Djilali was handed a starting role and the youngster impressed with a lively display on the right wing.
Rovers had dominated the first half and led at the interval courtesy of James Coppinger's left footed strike.
But the Eagles fought back well after the break and picked up an important away point thanks to Djilali's goal after 67 minutes.
"It was nice score but the result was more important today because we've been on bit of a downhill slide with administration and everything," he said afterwards. "I'm just happy to take my personal achievement out of the game as well. I'm really pleased."
Djilali was sent out on loan to Chesterfield earlier in the season. He had the opportunity to extend his stay at the League Two outfit but decided to come back and fight for his place at Palace.
And the goal at Doncaster has convinced the 19-year-old he made the right decision.
"They asked me to go on to the end of the season at Chesterfield, but I just thought with the thiness of the squad here I had a real chance to get in.
"It's taken a bit of time, a bit longer than I had I hoped for, but now that I'm in, hopefully I can stay there.
"I've always had belief in my own ability. It was just a question of when I got the chance I had to take it. It's all in my hands, I've got to keep working hard and hopefully the gaffer keeps the faith in me and keeps me in the team."

“L460uis, Henfield Village,
You are right. People shouldn¿t make idiotic comments under false names. It¿s not on. We could win every game until the end of the season. We¿ve got all the home games sewn up as long as you lot respond to me and Alice when we rouse you into singing at the top of your voices during Glad All Over.
We empathise with you L460uis. Alice and I were up in the nest the other day, contemplating NW¿s big move to Queens Park Moneybags and how we could get Sir Stevie Coppell back. We reckon Ian Wrighty Wright might come out of retirement and bring Brighty with him. Right again L460uis, the fact that the interfering in team affairs, Brtiatore, resigned just as speculation about Neil started, the fact that NW wouldn¿t deny Saturday was to be his last game and the fact that the administrator is keen to get his hands on £1 million compensation doesn¿t make his move any the more likely does it????? Who would want to leave a club with no money, hardly enough players for a match-day squad and hovering just above the relegation zone, where players may have to go out on loan to save money on the wage-bill, for a club with loadsadosh with a big salary on offer and the resources to launch a bid for the Premier League next season? No contest there!
And it¿s true L460uis, big Si didn¿t take us into administration. He simply made it clear he wouldn¿t be able to pay them back. Talk about over-reaction. What¿s £5m between businesses?
We at the club think you¿re a hero L460uis. You stand up to the bully boys on this site. Shame on them for not even being prepared to put their own name to their mad comments. It¿s them that should be in the nut-house.
Regards to Peter and Norman and keep those intelligent comments coming. Must go. I¿m giving the invisible man some hints on how to play the famous Arsene Wenger 4-6-0 formation. Where is he?.............I can¿t see him anywhere.”
