EVERTON fail in late Moses BID
Everton emerged as shock contenders for Victor Moses on transfer deadline Tuesday, the Advertiser understands.
Palace managed to see off a flurry of last-minute attempts from the Premier League to nab the talented forward (pictured).

And the Advertiser has learned that Everton held talks with the Selhurst Park club about signing the teenager.
The Goodison Park club were prepared to spend £3million of the £24m recouped from the sale of Joleon Lescott, only for the deal to fall through in the final 20 minutes of the window.
When asked about Everton's interest, Eagles boss Neil Warnock said: "I spoke to three or four Premier League clubs about Victor on Tuesday."
In addition to the Toffees, Palace also held talks with Spurs and Wigan over a potential move for Moses.
But the Selhurst Park club managed to resist the temptation to sell Moses on the cheap to help ease the club's financial concerns.
Spurs assistant boss Kevin Bond was hopeful of pushing a deal for Moses through before Tuesday deadline.
But White Hart Lane boss Harry Redknapp resisted the temptation to make a bid, instead deciding to monitor his progress until January.
And Warnock admits he is bracing himself for another flurry of phone calls about Moses once the transfer window reopens.
He said: "What I think will happen now is that they look at him and make a decision on him by Christmas."
Warnock added: "As a manager, I'm delighted to still have him on board – but I feel sorry for the chairman a bit because he keeps on putting in the money."

“Granted, maybe I do but in fairness you quickly went on the defensive when all I said was how are we all going to recognise each other, thats all. I understood and respected that you did not want to meet me alone.
As for that performance, well Warnock just has not got a clue now has he. Maybe he has got one eye on the Plymouth job when the manager is sacked there, it is close to where he lives. Some say it is only one game but in all fairness this has been coming for ages. In the Plymouth game we could easily have been 3 down by h/t.
All we need is someone just to be diciplined and sit in front of the back four, a job for Fonte or Ertle maybe. And of course someone to bang n the goals but the defensive m/f position has to be sorted, we are left exposed for heavens sake.”

“Define p.... teaser, thats for little girls as in this situation. A little flirting, that,s for mature folk, it helps the world to go round and its fun but there are rules. In this case I have been accused of being a potential sex beast which I am not, I am a genuine, decent honest guy. In any case it is not as if we weren't going to meet in a public place. It was a pub and would have been full of people.
Anyway, back to real life. I think there is only one man to blame for that performance and that is yourself Mr Warnock.
This has been brewing for ages, your tactics and team selection is all wrong. I think you do have to start looking at yourself now. Why play Butterfield instead of Clyne. Carle needs to come in for N'diaye who needs to be rested. Our scoring record at home is abysmal going back to last season. This is now your team so there are no excuses anymore, I certainly can't take anymore of this, its embarrasing. A goal conceded in each of our home games this season in the first five minutes is unnacceptable. Changes have to be made, and fast as there are murmerings amonst the faithfull.”

“My , thats very chauvinistic attitude Pete . Im well aware of all the rules of the game , but why on earth would you need a 'woman' to explain them to you.Your'e quite clearly one of the male breed that thinks a womans place is in the kitchen. In this day and age thats very archaic.”

“Thats a relief I have to say !! Shame you could not explain, my expectations of you would have gone back up. If a women doesn't know the offside rule then she's not really accepted into a mans game as far as I am concerned. Enjoy the game.”
