East Croydon Menta scheme up for debate
The mayor of London Boris Johnson has earmarked a date in July to discuss a controversial East Croydon sky-scraper scheme, to the delight of local campaigner Sean Fitzsimons.
The ex-Addiscombe councillor who opposes the huge Menta development is delighted local residents will now "have the chance to challenge Mr Johnson's refusal to intervene in this matter".
The scheme, which proposes four massive towers - one of which is 51-storeys tall - that residents argue will overshadow several Addiscombe roads and compromise light and weather conditions in the area.
As soon as the meeting is finalised details will be posted on the mayoral website, at www.london.gov.uk.
