Edgar Davids has taken a major step towards signing for Crystal Palace after training with the Eagles' squad this morning.

The former Dutch international wrote on the social media website Twitter that he was on the way to Palace's training ground this morning.

News of Davids' arrival clearly excited the Palace squad with Neil Danns confirming that the former Juventus midfielder had trained at the Beckenham venue today, and hinted Davids could become an Eagles player very soon.

Also writing on Twitter, Danns said: "My team mate in a couple of hours, what a legend he is, I'm gonna study him I'm sure there is still so much I can learn," before adding, "Woooooooooooow edgar davids"
