LAURIE Evans has had some good news after being released by Surrey two weeks ago.

The 22-year-old is on loan at Warwickshire until the end of the season and played in the Bears' second XI side that beat Nottinghamshire by 10 wickets last week.

It is understood that Northamptonshire are also interested in the Old Whitgiftians batsman, and the club would have got a close look at Evans when they met Warwickshire's second XI on Tuesday.

Evans is keen to find a new club after Chris Adams told him he had no future at Surrey.
