BUS CRASH: The incident occurred in Wellesley Road
A bus driver has been taken to Mayday Hospital after crashing into a lamp post on Croydon's Wellesley Road.
The victim, in his 20s, suffered minor injuries during the crash at 7.45am, and is thought to have collapsed at the wheel of the 157 Travel London bus.
Traffic was diverted away from the incident, which occurred near the junction with St James's Road, until 8.50am but the street has now been reopened.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic accident involving a bus at approximately 7.45am.
"We sent one single responder, two ambulance crews and a duty officer.
"A man in his twenties was taken to Mayday Hospital with minor injuries."
Less than two weeks ago eight people were injured, one seriously, when a bus and a car crashed in Addiscombe Road, Addiscombe.

“I was somewhat surprised to read that this WASN'T an Arriva bus. But then, it hit a lampost and not a tree.”

“You lot are missing Susan's point. She isn't saying that the incident itself is crass - just that it's a bit pathetic to label the story 'exclusive' as if it's a fine piece of investigative journalism! You are making yourselves look silly for not reading he comment properly - basically she is saying the same sort of thing as all the rest are - e.g bad news in Croydon is so much the norm that it doesn't take much skill or effort to report it.”
