Family scoops up tickets for 'final and best' Jacko show
by Jo Charlton
King of pop impersonator Keith Preddie has sold 31 tickets to one person for his next tribute show in New Addington.
The Bigger, Badder, Better Men in the Mirror show is taking place next month following his sell-out tour on the estate last October.
Jenny Worley went to the previous show and loved it, which is why she grabbed the 31 tickets this time around, for friends and four generations of her family, from her 84-year old mother down to her grandchildren.
She told the Advertiser: "It was fantastic last time but a lot of people I knew missed out. It was a really, really good night so I wanted to make sure everyone got a ticket.
"Plus Keith said it's going to be bigger and better this time."
There will be singing and dancing dedicated to Michael Jackson at the show, and a disco into the night.
Jenny's daughter Lisa Worley, 31, of North Downs Crescent, New Addington, is attending with her sons Jai, 11, and Tyler, 8.
Lisa also works with Keith at the Fieldway Family Centre and said: "Tyler didn't really know much about Michael Jackson until he met Keith, but now he idolises Keith and thinks he's the real Michael Jackson.
"When he turned on the Christmas lights (on the estate in November), Tyler made us stay and watch – he wouldn't go home until he'd seen him on stage."
When Michael Jackson died in June last year – sparking the revival of Keith's career – Tyler was devastated.
Lisa explained: "We were on holiday and Tyler cried his eyes out because he thought Keith had died."
The show is being held at the Addington Community Association hall in Central Parade, New Addington, on Saturday, March 13.
It will be the first time Keith has ever performed with all of his sons, Ryan , 11, Michael , 22, and Aaron , 19, and his mother is making a special trip over from Portugal just for the show.
The 41-year-old from Coulsdon said: "It was a sell-out last time. A lot of people couldn't make it but after watching the highlights on Facebook and YouTube they've been on at me to do it again.
"That's how I came about doing this one. I've never danced with all my sons so it will be really special."
Keith is also planning a big surprise for the show, which no one outside of it knows about.
He said: "This will be my last show and I want to go out with a bang."
The doors open at 4pm with the show due to run 5-7.30pm, with an after-show disco until 11pm. Entry for babies, £3 for children and £6 for adults. E-mail meninthemirror@ymail.com or call 07954 164656.

“Sorry to hear that Mike - it should never be the Supermarkets leading the "regeneration" of an area.
We find ourselves up here, with Croydon Council having had to pay a Consultancy Co stupid money to "assure the community" our views are now being considered - no bad thing in the long run provided this is done. The Council are also having to pay out money to keep the old swimming pool usable. There is no "legal agreement" with Tesco in force - and no apparent date for works to begin. Hope those managing the community hall are happy, 'cos I don't know many residents that are.”

“Krystal
I have been in a town that was promised many things by a supermarket chain ,15 years later we are still waiting for the benefits, of course the shop opened on time.”

“Mike, Ex New Addington
I beg to differ. If Croydon Council and Tesco had their way - we could have had a swim in the new pool, perhaps a workout at the new gym - to then stroll into the new, modern purpose-built community hall to watch this show.
There was never any question of it not being provided - I believe it was just the ACA committee upset at being told the build would be completed in 2 phases rather than as originally planned - and their reluctance to relocate until the new building was completed.”

“I hope that the show goes well, of course if the borough council and Tesco had had their way there would be no hall to hold the event in.”
