FLASH flooding in Croydon this afternoon has lefts roads closed and public transport delayed in parts of the borough.

Sudden heavy downpours caused the Tramlink to be closed temporarily after the loop around West Croydon station became submerged in water, but services are running now.

London Road, Sumner Road and Epsom Road are among the areas affected by flooding, but there is some confusion as to whether this is being caused by the intense rainfall or a burst water main.

The forecast for the rest of the day is for heavy rain and thunderstorms, and the rest of the week is expected to be cloudy.
