In the hours following his death, tragic murder victim
Nilanthan Murddi was linked to gangs, including Croydon's Tamil
-

CLASSMATE: Nilanthan Murddi will be deeply missed
Boys.
But friends insist he was well-behaved and had never been in
trouble.
Former classmate David Gravel told the Advertiser: "It's
heartbreaking. Whoever took the life of a young man in this way
is evil.
"He was a good guy. He lived his life and people dislike you
when you live your life.
"He was never in trouble and he was never suspended from
school. I've lost someone close."
There are now seven floral tributes at the scene of his
murder in Sumner Road.
One card left at the scene and signed by 11 people said: "We
will always be thinking of you. You will be missed so much.
"You were the joker of the family and your jokes and happy
memories will remain with us forever.
"You did not deserve to leave us so early. We guess the
angels needed your help more than us."
Friend Kamran Hussain, 22, said: "He was a nice young lad
that did not deserve this.
"Most of my mates are 21 or 22 but he was one of the younger
lads who used to hang round with us. He was never in
trouble.
"He was a happy, fun loving guy who never made any fuss. He
was into football, PlayStations and the Internet and was a keen
Manchester United fan.
"It's all a terrible shock."

“i was a very close friend of Nilanthan's. Just to clear things up here, he WAS NOT part of any gang or group. i don't know how or where these rumours have started from but his family is very upset that this has been said. True, he knew a lot of people who may have been part of gangs but he certainly was not, as his best friend I think i would know.
and as for you 'Dont Need To Know', it's so easy to be judgmetnal isn't it? perhaps you're a hermit who's only out for a few hours a day - get a life & grow up!”

“To 'Dont need to know'...show some respect. A young boy was murdered and you are trying to suggest that it was his own fault...i simply find your comment disrespectful when the family and friends of this young lad are going through so much pain and anguish...for god sake grow up and stop being so ignorant...so many young teens are dying in recent years due to gun and knife crime...comments from people like you show exactly how unaware some people like you are!
Condolences to Nilanthan's family and friends...R.I.P young one...”
