Funding fears for children's charity
THERE was a fun end to this year's Whitgift Special Needs Activity Project (SNAP) last Friday.
The charity of the same name, which hosts summer and Easter play schemes for children and young people with disabilities in Croydon, threw a party.

Around 350 children took part in the scheme, which offered arts and craft lessons, days out to the beach and the London Eye, and the chance to make new friends.
Despite the scheme's success, chairman Katherine Ahmet says the charity, based at Whitgift School, in South Croydon, is struggling for funding.
"I realise it's a hard time for everyone but it's getting more and more difficult to get funding," she said. "It's a real struggle to get the amount of money we need to fund this project which is a massive shame as it does so much good work for so many people."
The charity needs to raise around £100,000 to put on its summer project and hopes businesses in Croydon will help it raise the cash to ensure it goes ahead next year.
"This project is right on their doorstep and it really helps local people," Mrs Ahmet added. "They could help in many ways – whether by putting a collection box on the till or making donations."
