BOXING: NEW Addington's former amateur boxing star Gareth Gardner will get his first taste of national exposure this Friday night when the talented super middleweight's dazzling title-winning performance last time out at the Queensbury Boxing League will be shown on one of the country's biggest sports channels, Eurosport.

The talented 27-year-old, who has been boxing since the age of nine under the guidance of father Will, claimed the title back in November with a comprehensive points victory over Mitcham's Luke Dawson in the UK's premier boxing league, and Gardner's performance has earned him the chance to expose his talents to a much bigger audience and raise his profile in the sport.

"It's fantastic that the fight is going to be shown on Eurosport and it's going to give me some great exposure on such a big channel," Gardner said.

"It was a tough fight and he caught me with some great body shots that stopped me in my tracks, but there was no way I was going to let anyone down and I put on a good performance."

Gardner's fight will be broadcast at 10.30pm on Eurosport and the champion is currently training hard for his next fight on March 10 at Epsom Downs Racecourse, which will also be filmed by Eurosport.
