Harriers continue marathon efforts

SOUTH London Harriers athletes took on the tough Man Versus Horse mountain marathon race in Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales last weekend.

The winning time by a horse-rider was 2hrs 17mins and the first man on foot to finish timed 2:31. South London's Paul Mitchell finished in 2:56, Marketa Martins in 3:38, Clare Settle in 3:48, Peter Emery in 3:50, Antonio Martins in 3:51, Tracy Land in 3:54 and Pam Iannella in 4:08.

Four SLH athletes completed all five races in the Marathon Windows Tour of Epsom which was held over the course of last week.

Over-55 veteran Ian Kitching was the most successful, with over-40 veteran woman Ruth Hutton, Danny Hutton (v45) and Warwick Bilham (v55) also completing a full house.

SLH will host their next Informal 10km open cross country race over Farthing Downs next Thursday June 24 starting at 7.30. Visit southlondonharriers.org for more information.
