Heat
Great. The Croydon office has been hit by a complete electricity and phone line failure today, meaning we've had to ship people over to the Reigate office.
I hate to point the finger of blame, although the word on the street (or at least in the IT department) is that our security guard has a lot to answer for.
Anyway, shortly after the Croydon team arrived in the Reigate office a small fire broke out in one of our overhead newsroom lights, creating a small drama and a big smell.
It prompted one reporter to claim it was God's way of telling me everyone should be sent home early, but I'm not doing that. I've just turned the lights off and opened all the windows instead - problem solved.
Heat and light problems aside, I can't wait to get out of the Christmas and New Year period - the papers are smaller than I'd like, nobody's around to answer our questions and we won't sell many papers as we come out on New Year's Day. Roll on 2009.
