KILLED: Perry Nelson Junior
A man accused of murdering a 24-year-old Norbury man who was trying to rob his home has been cleared of the charge.
Croydon Crown Court heard a planned robbery ended with one of the raiders - Perry Nelson Junior, from Pollards Hill South - being stabbed to death on September 10 last year.
Quamina, 49, of Southampton Way, Peckham, was cleared of murder yesterday (Tuesday).
Victor Temple, prosecuting, told the court a man known to Quamina had called him and asked if he could come to the flat in Peckham that evening.
Quamina agreed and 10 minutes later the man arrived.
But Mr Temple explained he was there with three other men intent on robbery.
The jury heard one had a gun and another had a steering lock.
Mr Temple explained that the man with the gun pointed it at Quamina who pushed a heavy loudspeaker at them, with the result that the gun and lock both went to the ground.
He then made his way to the kitchen and selected two of the largest knives from the knife box, the court heard.
Mr Temple told the jury Quamina emerged with a knife in each hand and inflicted serious injuries on Nelson.
In a prepared statement made on his arrest, Quamina said the man who phoned him asked if he could come to collect a CD.
Quamina said: "I thought he would be by himself. He came in and I gave him the CD he wanted.
"He walked to the door and opened it and three men rushed in. The first man holding a gun pointed it at me, the second one was holding a steering lock.
"I was standing in my hallway in a terrified state. I thought they were going to rob or kill me."

“Ash
Whilst i respect your opinion, particulary as you seem to have known the guy and the family, i do not agree wholly with your view.
I was not stabbed that day in that flat. Junior was. The reason i was not stabbed and Junior was, is that i did not agree to go to a known villians house with men who are known criminals looking for drugs money and being armed. I was probobly at the Palace Match, or down the pub having a couple of pints and minding my own business. Had i made the decision that Junior made that day, then i would like to think that as a grown man, i was making a decision knowing that 1, i was comitting an offence and 2, what i was about to do was not the safest thing in the world, and i might get hurt.
Junior made that decision. Forget about the other guy for a moment, i know he is no angel and had he been stabbed to death that day, no tears would have spilt by me, but Junior went to that flat knowing he was taking his life in his hands. That is the reason people on the page cannot understand why others are making him out to be some sort of hero who has been wronged.”

“Ash - The story states that the "robbers" had a gun and a steering lock. It's in black and white. I think it is YOU that has the clouded vision believing that these men were angels. They were violent drug dealers. Any family would protect their son by telling friends/family lies to soften peoples perception of them.
And if ithe report is all lies, then why do the family not report it? Or sue?
And this has nothing to do with colour. S cum doesnt have a skin colour, at the end of the day, s cum is sc um.
And with regards to Quamina, karma will make him pay.”

“Oh Ash beleive me, if the victim were white, this story would have been portrayed in a whole different way. It is just bad reporting, sensationalism from 2-bit reporters who dont wish to print facts but instead want to cause controversy just to get readers!
The same way the press intially made out Darren Deslandes' shooting was some sort of gun/gang warfare when in fact he was a completely innocent man working in his family's pub!”

“I had the pleasure of meeting Junior and his lovely family!
I cannot believe that the media and public are taking sides of a murderer.
Who, has had a long history of stabbing and slashing people with knives!
A man who knows the system inside out and feels he can get way with murder!
Okay he owed money to someone, he set the guy up!
i can imagine the thought processess in the sick mans head
"come round to my house for your money - little did the victims know that he was really thinking 'come round to my house i will stab you and turn it round on you!
HELLO: he buzzed them into his flat! No forced entry
NO weapons (the police didnt find a GUN or weapon) especially in connection to the 3 guys who entered the flat
The sick man (with a clear fetish for knives) set them up! Had knives ready!
HE stabbed a 34 year old boy from a loving background 11 times!
He didn't even go there to rob! Why would he? he went round there as backup - never did he imagine knives would be involved.
The three who were invited into the house were not bad people, one hid as all the drama happened, the other 'Junior' was stabbed 11 times.
Even if this ridiculous story of them robbery was true, can the jury honestly beleive that 11 stab wounds was reasonable force? Even the stab wounds in his back? When he was trying to run away, get away leave? 11 stab wounds - being attacked by a 'spliff ssmoking bible basher' with 2 knives - and 11 stab wounds
COME on jury where is your common sense, if i was in the jury's shoes right now i would be beating myself up about this!
Maybe they mjust couldnt beleive that a man would kill for money but then again they were not allowed to be informed of his previous convictions so they would have been unaware of the weird fetich he has for slashing ex girlfriends, using samaria swords and stabbing people since 1985!
The public are wrong to say Junior deserved to die, especially as there was no gun and no robbery! It's funny how the media can spin things round but I believe that jmustice will be served
I pray that the family take this further and clear Junior's innocent name!”
