A SHIRLEY mum who has helped her neighbours shed pounds of fat is appealing for more Croydon residents to join her group.

Donna Allen, 34, from Shirley Oaks Village, is the person behind the incredible weight loss success story of the Waites, published in the Advertiser last week.

The four family members have lost almost 35 stone between them.

Mrs Allen, a consultant with Slimming World, runs her group at 7pm each Thursday from Coney Hill Baptist Church, in Coney Hill Road, West Wickham.

She herself boasts an impressive weight loss of 3st 10.5lbs since September 2009 and at 9st 12.5lbs she is now just a couple of pounds off her target weight.

Mrs Allen, whose weight crept up after the birth of her son Jack, now two years old, said: "Slimming World has helped hundreds of people and I hope the story of the Waites will inspire more to join.

"As 'target members' the Waites come along to the group sessions to motivate and inspire others."
