One thoughtful woman is on a mission to organise a touching tribute to mothers everywhere.

Angelia Jordan, a funeral arranger who works at Rowland Brothers in Central Parade, New Addington, wants people to lend her pictures of their mums.

She plans to display the photos in the shop in the run-up to Mother's Day on March 14.

Angelia said: "I want as many people as possible to have their mums' faces up in the display because they are very important people.

"We're going to have one half full of mums who have sadly passed away, so their children can remember them, and the other half full of mums who are still with us to say thanks for all the hard work they do.

"It's really hard to get people involved with things like this because of the stigma attached to funeral homes – people think of death and they run away.

"But we really want to do something positive and heart-warming to encourage more people to come in – even if it's just for a cup of tea and a chat."

Angelia lost her mum June Tarry two and a half years ago and hers is the first picture up in the display.

The photographs will be on show until March 15 and Angelia is planning to display them from next week.

All pictures will be returned to their owners. For details call Angelia or Carol on 01689 842046.
