FLYING THE FLAG FOR CROYDON: Odette Campbell
Organiser Graham Dare confirmed that the Miss Reading Town catchment area does include Croydon.
He explained the aim is to get as many budding models involved as possible, including 5ft 9in Odette.
He added: "It's beauty we're looking for – face and figures.
"We will do interviews on stage as well asking things like 'why are you entering' and 'what would you do if you won'."
Even more bizarrely, the Miss Reading Town heat will take place in Slough on September 2.
There will be three categories – likely to be swimwear, evening wear and sports.
The winner of Miss Reading Town, one of a number of heats being organised across the country, will go through to the Miss Great Britain final.
As well as being awarded the prestigious title of Miss Great Britain, the winner will be given a modelling contract.
