Macenhill in top form
ATHLETICS: STRIDERS of Croydon showed their strength in depth by having three teams in the top 12 at the East Surrey League's annual cross-country relay at Wimbledon Common on Saturday afternoon.
Their A team placed seventh out of 21 teams, with their best run coming from Damian Macenhill who ran 10 minutes 38 on the first leg, finishing sixth.
At the Kenley 10 kilometre road race last Sunday, Richard Lee-Smith placed fifth (36.06) while Macenhill was eighth (37.43).
Cara Kayum ran well to be the third woman finisher (41.16) with Serena Stracey fourth (41.48), Josephine Thompson seventh (44.33) and Hannah Musk eighth (45.36).
This Saturday (11th) Striders' men and women will be competing in Division Two of the Surrey Cross-Country leagues at West End Common, Esher.
