Man dies after being hit by car in Carshalton
POLICE are appealing for information following the death of a man who was hit by a suspected drink-driver.
Officers were called to Wrythe Lane in Carshalton just before 1am on Saturday. They found 41-year-old Adam Lyas injured. He is thought to have been hit by a black Ford Ka. Mr Lyas was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he later died.
A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol.
He was bailed until early July, pending further inquiries.

Detective Constable Nicola Linton, who is leading the investigation, is appealing for information about the incident.
She said: "I would urge anyone saw the incident, or the events leading up to it, to contact us. Although it was in the early hours of the morning, it is a busy road and I am sure people would have witnessed it."
