A man had a gun held to his head during a terrifying robbery in Norbury.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the horrific ordeal for the 55-year-old in Upwood Road.

The victim had parked his silver Toyota Previa car when three men all wearing hooded tops and gloves approached the vehicle.

One of the suspects opened the driver's door, took the keys from the ignition and put a gun to the victim's head.

He was then ordered to get out of the car.

The suspect tried to pull the victim out of the car but he was unable to as he was wearing his seat belt.

The victim then began to sound his horn and shout for help, before a second suspect opened the passenger door and took the victim's wallet containing £25 and his driving licence which was on the seat.

All three suspects then escaped towards Lloyd Avenue having first stolen two silver coloured tool boxes from the boot of the victim's car.

The suspects are described as black men, aged between 18 and 23, wearing dark hooded tops with the hoods worn up, and dark coloured gloves.

DC Steve Troubridge, of Croydon Robbery Squad, said: "This was a gun enabled robbery and was a terrifying experience for the victim that has left him extremely shaken.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary."

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Monday February 15.

Anyone who did see anything should contact Croydon CID on 020 8649 1377 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

“This sounds like the same 3 men who got into my neighbours daughters car and put a gun to her head last year. Less than a mile from the latest crime. I try to discourage friends visiting me by car in case it happens again in my street.”

“Andrew Pelling is pleasant I had a meeting with him in parliament in 2008 we sat on the terrace talked about gang gun knife crime etc I do like Andrew Pelling as a person, I got a copy of the letter he received and shared with me about knife crime from the Home Office in 2008 and got asked for my comments on it by his PA "your thoughts would be much appreciated" so he has asked me about these issues and I do like Andrew but my work passion is for Croydon.

    Thanks

“Thank you - Mark I will defiantly agree that coming on this page and commenting could be seen as a test for me, I like the fact that people can ask me questions and I can answer very transparently, I do not think in any way any ones behaviour on here is of a bullying manor.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I like it when people disagree with me or what I think as it is a learning curve I will answer to the best of my abilities and I am dedicated and determined to represent Central Croydon and all the people in my constituency.

Politics is a very odd thing in certain ways as you are never going to know what someone wants but the ability to help them get it if its right is a good thing.

Thank you for all your comments I do appreciate them

    Thanks

    “Sandra

If Michael thinks i am picking on him he is mistaken

Michael is a very bright young man who has decided that he wants to become an MP and represent constituants in the NA area. I am sure that Michael will be the first to tell you that when you start advertising yourself on the comments pages of a newspaper, then you have to accept that some people will not agree with your views, or question them, or ask you to comment on certain subjects. You may be surprised to hear this, but that is what an MP does. Maybe in New Addington, people think that because that is where Michael is from, and he is young and wants to represent the youth, and thinks a memorial to a dead child is a great idea, that is it, job done, election one.

Does not work like that, as Michael will tell you, he has to come on pages like this to learn his trade, he will be doing this face to face with real people, and you may not be there to stick up for him, but i am sure he will be able to present himself well and hold his own without you holding his hand.

Another thing Michael will tell you is that eveyone is entitled to thier opinion.

BNP do not have a candidate in my area, if they did then who knows, maybe i would vote for them, but it would not be because i want them in power, it would be as a statement that the rest of the crap out there are not worth voting for.”

“Michael Castle represents the view and feelings of the majority of people.

And the vast majority of people from New Addington want to keep the memorial that THEY paid for and constructed that is dedicated to Mark Gurney.
Michael shares and supports our beliefs and has spoken up for us.

That is why Michael has the support and vote of 1000's.

You obviously want to vote for some racist that is intent on deporting people with a darker skin tone to you. Why don't you go and talk to the BNP scum and stop picking on Michael.”

    “Mr Castle

I appreciate you think that you answered the question that i asked, but what you actually did was to swerve the question and in its place make a political statement. Keep going like that and you WILL win votes.

I on the other hand will not be voting for any candidate that can not make assurances that he will tackle the big issues we have in Croydon.

In my opinion, and i appreciate certain people will not agree, but in my opinion if you are canvassing for issues such as a thief and a local thug to be remembered by having some sort of memorial when he got exactly what he deserved, then you are not going to be going in to bat for me this election, i personally would like issues that effect me, my family and being able to safely keep a roof over their heads and be able to safely take them shopping into Croydon without worrying about being mugged or worse.”
