Man suffers head injuries after being hit by Croydon tram

A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after being hit by a tram.

A commuter called an ambulance after the incident at 9.30am this morning (Tuesday) close to the Arena tram stop, in South Norwood.

A single responder and an ambluance were sent to the scene and the injured man was taken to Mayday Hospital.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "BTP can confirm that a 32-year-old man from Clapham suffered a minor head injury after being struck by a tram near to a tram stop in Shoreham Close, Croydon, today.

"The man was walking towards the tram stop when he received a glancing blow to the head from the oncoming tram.

 

"The injured man was taken to hospital where currently remains in a stable condition."
