McCarthy red cost us place in final - Parish
EAGLES co-chairman Steve Parish criticised referee Howard Webb for sending off Palace's skipper Paddy McCarthy, insisting the decision cost his club a place at Wembley.
McCarthy was given his marching orders with just over 10 minutes remaining, meaning his side had to play the whole of extra-time a man light.
And Parish says the timing of the decision was especially bad for his team, as he believed the away side were getting stronger and stronger as the game wore on.
"Inconsistency in refereeing really annoys me." said Parish. "If the second yellow was a booking then there should have been several players sent off for both sides.
"There was some really cynical challenges from the Cardiff players on Wilfried Zaha that were much worse than Paddy's but they went unpunished.
"I'm really proud of our players and management as they gave it everything but I think that decision really cost us a place in the final. I was convinced we were going to do it.
"I don't want to take anything away from Cardiff but I think we were let down by the referee."

“Although I dont agree with Parish saying that it was the referees fault, I am very annoyed about how people on here can start to **** off the very people who saved us from Administration!
We havent got the millions that Cardiff have to throw at promotion, Dougie is a young manager who as a player was very attack minded so I am sure once he has learned his trade a bit more will come out of his shell, he has some very exciting young players coming out of the academy!!!
Our ball retantion was not good in the semi-final which meant that Cardiff just kept coming and coming. I think that if we'd had 11 players on the pitch with Cardiff getting more and more frustrated Ambrose or Zaha would have scored on the break. Have you not noticed that is the type of players we have at the moment, counter attackers!!!! Even AJ is that type of player!!!
Dougie has brought stability to the Club, so much so that we are arguing about whether we should be pushing for the play-offs instead of looking at relegation! get off his back (unless you want George Burley Back!).
Once we have established ourselves again in the Championship, blooded our young players for a couple of years we will push for the premier!!! If someone had given you a semi-final of a cup, away win at Man Utd and Brighton, a few points off the playoffs at the start of the season, all right minded supporters would have snapped their hand off.

has nobody informed you that we did not have a game this weekend and you have been scouring the papers for the report to give your views!
With regard to AJ cant see it happening but would certainly give our fast diminishing play off hopes a push.
To be fair to DF hes not done bad given the monies hes bee given and maybe with another 12 points on the board he can afford to be less negatine and try to play with a bit of attacking flair.
If not Billy Davies still out of work and a proven successful manager in the championship given the right financial support”
