Mits enjoy cup glory: Municipal round-up
Surrey FA Premier Cup
Mitsubishi Electric, of the Premier Division, progressed to the quarter-finals with a superb 5-0 win over Blueacre.
Mitsubishi started well and took the lead when Dougie Dance connected with a ball from Dwayne Townsend, who then added a second.
Blueacre came back and smashed a strike from distance against the cross bar, forced goalkeeper Dave Tripp to save from a tight angle and then forced Dean DeRosa into a goal-line clearance.
Mitsubishi went up the other end and put the game out of sight with a fine overhead finish from Terry Lineker.
Lineker could have had another before the interval, but saw his early shot from a Kevin Dalrymple cross well saved. The keeper denied him a second time this time from close range.
However, Dalrymple ensured Mitsubishi went in four goals up when he lifted the ball over the keeper.
As Blueacre pushed up after the break, they left themselves open at the back and Mitsubishi capitalised. Henry Kabanda played a long ball up to Lineker, who turned the last defender before hitting a deft chip over the keeper from distance.
