Gymnasts, crazy bears, fireworks, classic cars and the borough's answer to Michael Jackson have all been lined up for New Addington Christmas lights switch-on.

The full itinerary has now been unveiled for Saturday November 21.

Michael Jackson impersonator Keith Preddie will be turning on the lights in Central Parade at 6.45pm.

There will be a Crazy Bears' Christmas Show for the little ones at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm in the car park of the Addington Community Association with activities such as decorating a Christmas tree and festive cooking.

Other displays include gymnastic shows at 2 and 4.30pm, organised by a team based at Addington High School, and Christmas carols courtesy of the Salvation Army at 5.30pm.

The shows will be rounded off with a fireworks display at around 7pm.

Christmas Lights Committee chairman Mick Watts said: "We're really looking forward to it.

"It's been hard work doing the fundraising but it seems to all be worthwhile so far."

A fancy dress competition will be judged at 2.30pm with application forms from Burgess Boys Pet Care Centre in Central Parade.

No festive switch-on would be complete without Father Christmas and he will be in his grotto in the ACA.

A funfair will start at noon on both Saturday and Sunday. Donations for the event are still being collected outside Bloomin' Lovely in Central Parade on Tuesday and Friday nights until the switch-on.

“Frank M - you should be the one to keep your crap comments to yourself, don't you remember what browning did to those little kids last year, or is your head planted firmly up your butt. It wont go away you know, things like that will carry on happening up here until we all join together, speak up and throw the scum out!”

“hats not a proper Michael Jackson impersonator, the bloke there is black

Sure he's not James Brown ? He looks similar and you'll never see them together at the same time, thats proof enough for readers of the Daily Sport”
