Nilanthan
I haven't written anything about the killing of Nilanthan
Murrdi as it's not a subject I can add a great deal to.
We're giving extensive coverage to knife crime again this
week as you might expect, but we've tried to present it in
a way that takes the issue forward rather than looks back on
another waste of a young life.
I would like to say, though, that Nilanthaan's sister
Santhiya has shown remarkable bravery in facing the press - and
contributing to the knife crime debate - so soon after her
brother's death, and she has my full admiration.
On an entirely separate note, I'm beginning to think this
blog is more trouble than it's worth.
One particular entry was picked up on the Media Guardian
website and presented in a manner that make the Advertiser seem
more like the set of a Carry On movie than the finely-tuned
multimedia machine that it is.
It would be the height of hypocrisy to write something in
public and then complain when people read it, so I think I'm
just going to take a vow of silence for a while instead.
