Noades happy to run Palace free of charge

FORMER chairman Ron Noades has told Palace's prospective owners he will happily run the club for nothing.

A consortium of wealthy fans known as CPFC 2010 were given preferred buyer status by administrators P & A Partnership earlier this week.
The group is widely believed to be headed by Eagles fan and Chief Executive of TAG Worldwide Steve Parish.
"I think Steve would be the ideal man to take Palace forward," said Noades. "He has wanted to buy the club for a long time and almost bought it off Simon Jordan before the club went into administration.
"He is an excellent businessman and a huge Palace fan.
"The one thing I do know though is that he doesn't want to run the club seven days a week. In fact I have already told him that I would happily do it for him, for nothing."
The one stumbling block of any takeover remains the purchase of the ground. Selhurst is currently being sold by estate agents CB Richard Ellis on behalf of administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
Noades has made no secret of his desire to get hold of the stadium and lease it back to the club for 10 percent of the gate receipts.
However, he insists that he would happily step aside if Parish and his gang could agree a price with PWC.
"There would be no bidding war," said Noades. "I would be happy for Steve to get the ground. I would be willing to get involved and help in any way that I could.
"All I really want is to be able to come back and watch Palace again and feel welcome in the boardroom, which certainly wasn't the case under the last chairman."
