GEORGE Burley has rubbished talk of influential midfielder Neil Danns joining Championship rivals Leicester City.

Stories emerged in the East Midlands earlier this week that the Foxes were interested in taking Danns to the Walkers Stadium.

Leicester manager Paulo Sousa has been a long term admirer of the 27-year-old and was close to signing him for his old club Swansea last season.

Sousa refused to rule out the move when questioned on the matter but Burley has put a halt to all rumours by insisting that Danns is staying with the Eagles.

“There is absolutely no truth in that whatsoever,” he told the Advertiser. “Neil Danns is very important player for us and he is going nowhere.”
