DARREN Ambrose has ended the speculation surrounding his future by signing a three year deal to stay at Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been constantly linked with a move away from Selhurst Park after former boss Neil Warnock tabled a £750,000 bid to take him to Queens Park Rangers earlier this summer.

But Ambrose has now committed himself to the Eagles - a move which will delight all supporters of the club.

"It's been a tough few months with all the speculation but I'm delighted to be sitting here and signing the new deal," Ambrose told Palace's official website.

"I have always wanted to stay at the football club and am glad it is all resolved."

Manager George Burley added: "We are trying to build a club and it's important to keep your best players.

"To have Paddy McCarthy and now Darren commit themselves is great news."

“Ambrose signing could be the key to other players like Speroni and Clyne staying and us attracting better players especially strikers as being honest what striker wouldnt want to get on the end of Darrens crosses !! I like most on here are so looking forward to the new season and it makes my season ticket in the Holmsdale Lower seem so so much more valuable !! Well done George Burley keep the good signings rolling in !! Ambrose is an Eagle Tra la la la !! Never mind Warnock you can take your rubbish and derisory bids elsewhere !! Ha Ha !!”
