THE supporters of Crystal Palace are doing all they can today to save their club from extinction.

The consortium trying to rescue the cash-stricken Eagles have been set a deadline of 3pm this afternoon to finalise a deal or administrator Brendan Guilfoyle will be left with no option but to begin the liquidation process.

CPFC 2010 - led by Eagles fans Steve Parish and Martin Long - remain the club's only hope of survival, but have insisted they will only complete a takeover if they can also purchase the freehold of Selhurst Park.

The stadium is under the control of administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) who are being guided by their main creditors - Bank of Scotland, who are part of the Lloyds Banking Group.

The Eagles fans demonstrated in huge numbers at Selhurst yesterday and another protest is planned for the bank's London HQ this morning.

Supporters have also launched an internet-led petition, canvassed local MPs and even Prime Minister David Cameron in a bid to rescue their beloved club.

More details can be found on the Holmesdale.net and CPFC BBS fans forums.

“Comforting that fans of other clubs are as concerned as we are, especially as there are three Millwall fans in my office and two of them are laughing their little cotton socks off bless 'em!”

“Does anyone really think the Bank give a crap about what happens to Palace as long as they get their bonuses and rip off the public with inflated interest rates and charges and it does not matter that we the tax payer bailed them out, I hope for the sake of Palace we do survive, what happens to my fathers ashes that were buried in the ground prior to the garden of rememberance being used, so many have loved ones ashes scattered or buried in the ground, we dont need it as a housing estate thanks, football should come first for the people and lets hope CPFC 2010 can run the club without it making a loss every year and it can consolidate in the Championship this coming year. If not and we are liquidated how long before a top club goes, just look at Liverpool and Tom Hicks putting his basball team in Chapter 11 protection he is potless and the club is in a far greater dept than Palalce can anyone see the banks pulling their plug??”
