POLICE are searching for two men who attacked and robbed a pensioner. The elderly woman, in her 70s, was walking along Wharfedale Gardens, in Thornton Heath, with her three grandchildren when the attack occurred. Two men approached the woman and snatched a gold necklace from her. One of her granddaughters fought with the man and managed to wrestle the necklace back from him before she was assaulted and the necklace taken from her.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which occurred at 1.15pm on June 5.
